Objectives

1) To fulfill energy needs of the rural people through development and promotion of economically feasible and environmentally sustainable technologies.

2) To undertake adoptive research/impact studies for the development and application of the rural energy and other technology development activities.

3) To implement programs for the sustainable utilization and management of local resources and skills.

4) To develop and maintain linkages with other relevant agencies and organizations and join hand to implement programs.

5) To conduct programs for improving energy efficiency in rural economic sectors like agriculture, agroprocessing, cottage industry, environmental conservation, etc.

6) 6) To empower women through capacity building and tranfer of technologies based on gender equity and labour saving options.
